Catching up

I haven't posted any pictures lately because I have no camera. Actually I do have the camera but no battery, someone here in my household misplaced it so I've been having to take pictures with my phone camera which isn't that great plus it doesn't have a flash. Still I wanted to put some new stuff up, so here it is. Hopefully I'll either find my battery soon or better yet buy a new camera.

and yet another idea

So the other day I went to pick up my daughter at her friends house.  The mom, Maria, offered me some arroz con leche (cuban style rice pudding) she had just made.  She gave it to me to go since I was in a hurry to get to the gym.  I shared it with my husband, my other daugher, and my son.  It was delicious.  Immediately Louis, my husband, and I thought, we have to make this into a cupcake.  So since arroz con leche is usually topped with some cinnamon poweder, we thought, we'll make a cinnamon cupcake and top it off with homemade arroz con leche (which I've also done before).  And that's how we added Cuba to the international line of cupcakes.  We are calling it Maria's Arroz Con Leche Cupcake since it was inspired by Maria.

So far in the line up we have the following:
India - carrot halawa cupcake,
Greece - baklava cupcake,
Sweden - lingonberry cupcake,
Cuba - arroz con leche cupcakes.  

So what do you  think?  Do you have any suggestions for other countries?  Let me know.

I'm sooo happy it's Friday!  I love Fridays!  So, I have a few orders that came in so that makes my Friday even sweeter.  I'll be making the ever so popular Caramel Crunch and Red Velvet Cupcakes. I'll also be making some Key Lime Cupcakes, also very popular.  I must say they are all very different, and they are all very tastey.  I'll also be making two cakes, one chocolate, the other oreo.  I'm excited and can't wait to start baking, so I'm going now.  I'll post some pics later this weekend so come back and check them out, better yet place an order and get yourself some....you deserve it!  Thanks to all! :o)

Juliet's Bakesale

So, I received a call a little while ago from Juliet's and Louie's school. Now the thing is every Thursday the school has a bakesale to make some money for each class, so every week a different class has a bakesale. What I've been doing is, when I can, I've been donating my cupcakes so the kids and the parents can try them out. Yesterday I donated the Valentine cupcakes I've posted below. So someone from the office calls me to tell me that the teachers ended up buying all the cupcakes for themselves...THEY LOVED IT! and they called me to tell me about it and to inquire for future orders! I'm so excited it just makes me want to bake MORE CUPCAKES!!! I'll contiune to donate the cupcakes for the class bakesale. :o)

Juliet's Birthday

I made this for Juliet so she can share with her friends at school for her birthday. Here favorite colors are orange and green so I made orange colored vanilla velvet cupcakes with a green Italian buttercream.
